Background

Carolyn was born and educated in Auckland. After completing her secondary education she trained as a primary teacher at the Auckland College of Education in Epsom, undertaking part time study at the University of Auckland at the same time. The majority of Carolyn's teaching, prior to joining ACG Strathallan, was in a variety of intermediate schools around Auckland. In 2001, after successfully winning a New Zealand Teachers Study
Award, she completed her Bachelor of Education (Teaching). As a classroom practitioner, Carolyn's teaching strengths lay in the curriculum areas of Mathematics and Physical Education/ Sport.

 

ACG Career

Carolyn joined ACG Strathallan in 2002 as a Year 6 teacher. She gained the position of Dean during her first term and became Assistant Principal in 2003.

As the school roll grew, Carolyn moved to Head of School in 2005 and to Principal Junior School in 2010. Carolyn's focus at ACG Strathallan is on building positive relationships with and between students, staff and parents. In an atmosphere such as this, learning flourishes.
