Bali Marine Conservation Camp-3Bali Marine Conservation Camp was a fun filled educational experience for all participating students. The first day began with an investigation of a local mangrove forest. The lush mangrove forests of Bali have become the destination for comparative studies by experts from various countries. Although the tide was too high for student to safely trek through the mangrove forest, the students gained essential knowledge re-garding how important they are environmentally.

JASIS Science Fair12 students from ACG went to AIS to participate in a Science Fair competition on Tuesday 25th September.

They carried with them display boards that were bright, eye-catching and full of interesting information. Each project had to be presented to 6 judges who then asked questions, so students had to be able to explain their projects.

New Science Laboratory

new-science-laboratory-1Students at ACG Jakarta have been excited by the benefits in now having access to a large modern Science Laboratory in our new Administration building.

Hieroglyphics-presentationWe are very fortunate at ACG to have parents who are generous with their time and happy to share their expertise within the classroom as part of the PYP curriculum. In this photo you can see ACG Primary students learning about hieroglyphics from our own in-house Egyptologist! This created a wonderful chance to bring our inquiry into the meanings of signs and symbols to life.

Year 6 Exhibition – Monday/Tuesday 14-15 May

IMG_3570This year, the Year 6 students performed their PYP Exhibition with the Theme of 'Sharing the Planet'. They were exploring the 'Risks, Challenges and Opportunities' that people experience throughout the world. For the past six weeks, students have been researching and presenting their findings about racism, disabilities, religions and many other topics. The Year 6 students began their Presentation in our new Arts Room and commenced the Exhibition with a short play they'd written focusing on poverty, and a role play of the true story titled 'Running Shoes'. The students then did an excellent statistical overview of their class called 'If our Class was the World' which amazed the audience. The Introduction finished with a rousing performance by the students of 'We are the World' the famous Michael Jackson song.

Leadership Program in ACG:

ACG Jakarta hosts a range of activities to develop student’s leadership skills commencing in the Primary years. There is significant research supporting small schools being able to provide every student with opportunities to develop their individual talents and ACG views this aspect as one of our strengths. Students are actively involved in:
