Thursday, 01 November 2012 13:52

Yoonjeong, Karen, Tony and Louis from Year 10 went to AIS for the Secondary Maths Competition on September 21st. We represented ACG and competed with 10 other teams from schools throughout Jakarta. There were problem solving questions and games which matched schools against each other. We did our best and were proud to receive 6th place out of 11 teams.

CIMG7899On Saturday 14th March 2012, Chesney, Nicola, and Jasmine W, participated in a Debate Competition organized by the Student Globe newspaper. It was held at the UPH College in Plaza Semanggi. A total of 24 schools across Jakarta participated. Most of the students were above Year 10 which was challenging for us (as we're Yr 8), but exciting as well.

In the first round we went up against Bina Bangsa, and battled for the topic "Saving the Planet Begins at Home." It was a pretty even round, but at the end we pulled ahead and scored ACG a point. It was quite exhilarating, and we wanted to go back up again! We had the chance when one of the schools didn't show up. Sue Bonnington, the Editor and chief of Student Globe announced that a school would have to volunteer to go against Global Mandiri. We were reluctant but we got up and did the inevitable.

These ACG Jakarta Students are the proud Winners of the Junior Spelling Bee Competition held across the JASIS schools on Friday, 17 February at the International School of Bogor.

Congratulations to Protik, Schola, Anirudh and Marco from Yr 2, 3 and 4 for being such competent Spellers and representing our school so successfully.

The students from each school participated extremely well representing their schools demonstrating keen sporting skills. Thanks to Mr Dhani for organizing afternoon practice sessions for the students. We were very proud when our U9 team won the competition, congratulations everyone!
