Itinerant Lessons 2013

Instrumental lessons will start in Week 2, with the exception of singing lessons which will start in Week 3.

Returning students - please contact your itinerant teacher for lesson times if you have not done so already.

New students - if you have not yet handed in your instrumental lesson application form and intend to take lessons, please do so promptly to ensure you are able to start as soon as possible. Please see Dr. Garner in the Music Department on Level 1 (Titoki Street) if you require a lesson application form.

Saxophone students - Jazz specialist Lewis McCallum will be teaching jazz sax this year. Please fill in a lesson application form to secure a lesson time.

Music Ensembles 2013

Rehearsals will take place starting Week 2 (Monday 28 January) for the following ensembles:

All the rehearsals above will take place in the Band Room on Level 1 in the Titoki Street building. Any returning musicians and new students interested in joining the above groups, please attend the first rehearsal. Places may be limited for some ensembles, so an informal try-out may be necessary.

Friends of Parnell College

'Friends' is a voluntary group of parents and guardians of students at the College. All parents are encouraged to join the Friends group and to participate in one meeting each term. To add your name to the list of supporters, please contact the Friends' co-ordinator, Mrs Sally Herbert.

The group's first event in 2013 is a Welcome Back Parents Drinks scheduled for Tuesday 12 February from 6:30pm.

Sally Herbert writes:

We thought it would be a great idea to hold an event for all parents, guardians and teachers to welcome in the new school year. This is a brilliant opportunity to find out what has been happening over the Christmas break, and meet parents and staff who are new to the school. So from 6:30pm on Tuesday 12 February please come and join us in the Cafeteria for a drink. We will hold our (Friends) meeting at 6:00pm and you are most welcome to attend this also.

We would love for all parents and/or guardians to be involved and to join the Friends group, and participate in the meetings each term. To add your name to the list, please contact me at sally@covisory.com.

The remaining 2013 Friends' meetings will be held at 7:00pm in the Student Information Centre at 2 Titoki Street on:

ACG Parnell College After School Care, Years 1 to 6

• Week days, 2:45pm to 5:30pm
• Includes time for homework, fun activities and a healthy afternoon tea
• Children are supervised in a safe and stimulating environment by a highly experienced and qualified teacher

Campus Tours are hosted by the Principal every Wednesday morning during term.

Scholarships

Academic Scholarships are available for students in Years 11 to 13 who are new to the College in 2013.
