Annie Awarded a Trinity College Diploma for Piano

Many congratulations to Annie Zhou (Year 12). She received her Diploma for Associate (ATCL, AMusTCL) at the Trinity College Ceremony where she gained with Distinction.

 

In addition, Annie learnt that she had won the Exhibition Award for gaining one of the highest distinction marks in the Trinity practical examinations.

Maddie's Equestrian Triumphs

ACG-Parnell-College-Maddie-MacLean-Pony-Club

Congratulations to Maddie MacLean (Year 10). She was placed 2nd in the Pony Club Two-Day Event and 3rd overall in the Horse of the Year Show for Dressage, Pony Level One.

 

The Pony Club Two-Day Event includes Dressage, Showjumping and Cross Country. Maddie's placing qualifies her to compete in Oamaru in the Pony Club National Championships.

 

The photo above shows Maddie and her pony, Chocolate Ripple, taking part in the Cross Country discipline.

Running Success for Millie

ACG-Parnell-College-Millie-Anderson-Running-Champion

Year 8 student, Millie Anderson, won the Silver Medal in the 3000m at the Auckland Athletics Championships. This was a great result against some touch competition.

 

Millie also broke the ACG Parnell College 1500m record at last term's Athletics Day.

NZ Tennis Selection

Congratulations to Year 9 student, Lana Popovich, on her selection for the New Zealand 14-year-old girls' high performance tennis squad.

Plunket Street Appeal

27 ACG Parnell College students took part in collecting for the annual Plunket Street Appeal at the end of last term. The group was arranged by Oliver Brown (Head Prefect 2011) and they were based at the 277 Mall in Newmarket. It was part of Oliver's 12 Hours in 2012 initiative.

The representative from Plunket was very complementary about our students who all did a wonderful job. In particular, David Lee (Year 10) spend six hours helping out with the collection.
