Lake Taupo"Around forty students and parents of the cycling team went down to Taupo to compete in or watch the 80km relay, or 160km solo ride, around the Lake. We had a gorgeous sunny day for riding and everyone had a great time, despite the many hours of pain!!!

"With over 8,000 other competitors, some exceptional rides were completed by our students: Charlotte Milne came 1st in the under 15 girls' category, Richard Ledger and Joey Vaughan achieved sub‐5 hour times (10th and 14th respectively in the under 15 boys) and Callum Walsh who was the youngest rider to complete the whole 160km!

"The cycling team has had a fantastic year and is looking forward to another exciting year in 2013. Cycling will start up early in term 1 and the annual cycling camp will be held in Rotorua in the Easter holidays with secondary schools competitions starting in term 2. "
