New Students
New students are provided with support throughout their transition into the college.
Every effort is made to ensure that students new to ACG Parnell College find the transition as smooth as possible. At the end of each year there is an Orientation Day for students commencing at the start of the following year. There are separate sessions for parents and students in the Primary School (Years 1 to 6) and in the College (Years 7 to 13).
Students who commence a course of study at ACG Parnell College during the year are allocated a tutor. They are also given a buddy who shows the student around the campus and ensures that the new student knows where all his / her classrooms and locker are located and the procedures for breaks. This buddy will usually be from the same tutor group. Deans may also check in with new students in the first few weeks and make sure that the student is happy and adjusting to the College routines.
