ACG Parnell College - Senior School

Students in Years 11 to 13 study an academic course based on the Cambridge International Examination system. IGCSE, AS and A-Level are seen as part of a single qualification system. Thus, courses at Years 12 and 13 are likely to contain a mixture of qualification levels.

Year 11

• Students usually take six IGCSE subjects, plus one period of Physical Education each week.
• The three core subjects in IGCSE are:
  • English Language
  • English Literature
  • Mathematics (Core or Extended)
• A pass grade in IGCSE Mathematics is required to meet the Numeracy Standard for University Entrance.

Years 12 and 13

• Students usually take eight subjects over 2 years.
• The Literacy Standard for University Entrance is a minimum grade E in AS English.
• Students applying to overseas universities should plan to complete three full A Levels.
