Academic achievements
ACG Senior College is extremely proud of their academic record with the most Top in New Zealand and Top in the World being 34 one year.
Any results must be put in context. At ACG Senior College, all students sit examinations at the end of the year and no one is barred from doing so. We do not have streaming but find that having students in classes where there is a range of abilities is advantageous. Teaching is aimed at a high level and those who are challenged by the academic standard are provided with support that will aid them to move beyond what they ever thought was possible. The results speak for themselves.
The formula is simple:
- Passionate and able teachers who genuinely care about students and their learning.
- Students who have chosen to come to ACG Senior College and arrive with the right attitude.
- Students who are open to developing a strong work ethic.
- An academically sound and rigorous examination system.
- The support networks to challenge students and yet provide support for those who are experiencing difficulties.
What is unusual and yet gratifying is that we have very high expectations and, every year, our students never fail to please us with their fine achievements and they have consistently produced excellent results for the CIE Exmainations. In the 2012 CIE Awards List, our students achieved one Top in the World, four Top in NZ, one High Achievement Awards for subjects with less than 50 students and four High Achievement.
