Term 3 Week 3 was Senior College's annual Amnesty International Freedom Challenge Week.

Each year, our Amnesty International Group comes up with various events and activities (this year, the events ranged from putting people in cages, to releasing balloons in Aotea Square) that everyone can participate in for the Freedom Challenge Week, in order to show our support for certain human rights causes.

This year, we supported the Women of Zimbabwe Arise (WOZA) and The Peace Community of San Jose' de Apartado.

Leadership Committee Community Project

Friday, 01 July 2011 11:59

After the Leadership Committee was initially created, we were a bit stumped for a while as to what we should make our project for the year, when Mrs Parker was told of a school in Great Barrier Island that was severely lacking in resources - our mind was made up!

I got in touch with the principal of Mulberry Grove School, and asked what we could do to help. Principal Ally Gibbs told me that what she was trying to establish for the kids was a trip to Auckland where they could all experience opportunities they tend to miss out on; like going to the movies or visiting Auckland Zoo. After some discussing with the rest of the Leadership Committee, our project was decided on.

To be continued.

Monday, 27 June 2011 17:18

Our winter sports teams have begun the season with a bang.

We've captured some of the girl's netball games and moments from the boy's soccer match last Friday.

Look out for more on the soccer and water polo teams in the coming few weeks!
