Uniform and Grooming

The Strathallan Education Trust Board has a specified uniform which may be reviewed from time to time. It is expected that each student will maintain a high standard of personal grooming and cleanliness. Wearing the School Uniform correctly is part of the requirements of attending ACG Strathallan College. It should be worn with pride.

ACG Strathallan College (Years 7 to 12)

Year 13 Uniform

In all instances, clothing should be worn as it is intended to be worn. Students must keep in mind that their dress must lean towards more formal wear.

The following items are not permitted:

Boys

1. T-shirts, singlets, polar fleeces or hooded sweatshirts
2. Boardshorts
3. Inappropriate logos or graphics
4. Jandals and sports shoes
5. Denim

Girls

1. Tank tops, hooded sweatshirts, t-shirts, strapless tops or tops showing midriff or cleavage
2. Inappropriate logos or graphics
3. High heels, sports shoes and jandals.
4. Miniskirts
5. Denim

Grooming

The following standards must be met:

Girls

Hair

Natural hair colours, and no extreme hairstyle (e.g. dreadlocks, gelled spikes etc).
Hair must be worn in such a manner so as to be clean, neat and tidy in appearance at all times.
Long hair (below shoulder length) must be tied back from the face with blue, black or white hair ties or held back securely from the face with a blue, black or white headband. No extreme colours or styles of hair-ties, ribbons, headbands or hairclips.

Jewellery

A watch, one necklace, a maximum of two rings (fingers only) and a maximum of two piercings per ear (small studs or sleepers only) may be worn – no extreme types. Bracelets and anklets are not permitted.

Makeup

No obvious makeup should be visible.
Nail polish must be clear.

Clothing

• The correct uniform is to be worn at all times with a clean and tidy appearance.
• The top button of the blouse is to be done up.
• No tee shirts to be visible under the uniform.
• Sleeves of the jersey must be down.
• White ankle socks – not knee length (in summer).
• Socks pulled up in winter.
• Clean regulation shoes with laces tied properly.
• Straps of sandals must be around the back of the ankle.

Boys

Hair

Natural hair colours, and no extreme hairstyles (e.g. dreadlocks, gelled spikes, shaven head etc).
Hair must be worn in such a manner so as to be clean, neat and tidy in appearance at all times.
Long hair (below shoulder length) must be tied or held back from the face.
Hair products must be kept to a minimum (e.g. wax, gel etc)
Clean-shaven, no extreme sideburns.

Jewellery

A watch, one necklace and a maximum of two rings (fingers only) may be worn – no extreme types.
Bracelets and piercings are not permitted.

Clothing

• The correct uniform is to be worn at all times with a clean and tidy appearance.
• Trousers and shorts must be worn at the waist – i.e. no "lower-rider" styles.
• In winter, the top button of the shirt must be done up, and the tie covers the button.
• Any belt worn must be blue or black.
• No tee shirts to be visible under the uniform.
• Sleeves of the jersey must be down.
• Socks pulled up in summer.
• Clean regulation shoes with laces tied properly.
• Straps of sandals must be around the back of the ankle.
