STM Star High School Award

Winner: ACG Schools, New Zealand

stm star high school award

On Saturday 1st September, ACG was for the second year in a row awarded the STM Star High School Award at the international education industry's most prestigious event at the London Hilton on Park Lane.

Ian King, Executive Chairman, and Kim Harase, Director of Marketing, accepted the award on behalf of ACG at the Study Travel Magazine (STM) Star Awards' gala dinner attended by 680 education providers and partners from all over the world.

Ian King says: "The winners of this event are chosen from thousands of votes cast by educational agencies in the industry, so winning this award is a great honour as it places ACG at the top in terms of recognition by our valued partners. ACG was the only NZ nominee and award winner amongst education providers from the UK, US, Canada, Australia, Ireland and South Africa".

"Winning the award confirms that ACG is meeting the service delivery expectations of its partners and their students. This is important as the majority of ACG's international students in NZ are recruited by our education partners. It is also important that we listen carefully to our students, their families and our partners to continue to provide them with the best educational services".

Ann Bennett, ACG Strathallan preschool teacher, has just returned from a mountain biking tour of Tanzania. After staying one night in a local school's grounds she reaslied that students here can help in a big way just by sending everyday school items to their Tanzanian counterparts.

Kamwanga School in Tanzania is a collection of three buildings, each with two classrooms. There are over 700 pupils and only 8 teachers (in one class there are 135 pupils). This part of the country does not have power, so there are no lights in these dark, crowded rooms.
