Academic information
ACG Strathallan senior students sit the internationally recognised Cambridge international Examinations. Our students achieve outstanding results in their examinations.
Pass rates for 2012 are:
College (Years 7-10)The subjects offered provide a balanced course covering all of the academic disciplines needed to prepare students for the senior secondary years and beyond. There is a strong emphasis on numeracy and literacy with 40% of classroom time devoted to English and Mathematics. All of the subjects offered are compulsory. Recently, the Cambridge Lower Secondary Programme has been introduced for Year 7 to 9 students in English, Mathematics and Science, providing a seamless link between the Cambridge International Primary Programme and the Cambridge International Examinations. Advanced classes in IGCSE Mathematics, IGCSE Combined Science and IGCSE Global Perspectives are also offered at Year 10 level.
College (Years 11-13)A wide range of subjects are offered covering humanities, mathematics, science, languages, commerce, technology and arts.
Year 11 (Form 5) Cambridge IGCSEStudents usually take five subjects plus Physical Education.
Optional subjects - Three subjects selected from the following:
Plus AS subjects for those who meet the entry criteria.
Year 12 (Form 6) Cambridge AS Levels
Optional subjects - Three subjects selected from IGCSE or AS lists.
Plus A2 subjects for those who meet the entry criteria.
Year 13 (Form 7) Cambridge A Levels
Compulsory Subjects - nil.
Optional subjects - Four subjects selected from the IGCSE, AS or A2 lists.
Please note that prior study is required for foreign language subjects.
