Student support
A key component of the educational progress of each student is the development of individual academic goals under the guidance of a Tutor teacher.
The tutor teacher is responsible for mentoring and encouraging individual students with a focus on improving student achievement. This is achieved through:
- Encouragement
- Pastoral care by supporting and guiding students through the 'early' days
- Addressing minor issues with younger students with positive support
- Assisting with the setting of educational goals
- Assisting with developing action plans to achieve these goals
- Providing guidance with study programs
- Referring students to the appropriate people when necessary
- Monitoring progress and providing feedback to parents and deans
- Raising expectations
- Building a level of trust
- Using senior students as mentors for junior students within the tutor group
- The development of a co-operative and supportive environment within the group

In addition to the Tutor teacher, teachers and students are supported by Year-level Deans and Senior Managers.
