Sunderland is set on nine hectares of landscaped land in a quiet street a short walk from Lincoln Road. There are separate playgrounds for Primary and College students. As the school has been developed from an existing building, it is solidly built of brick, set among mature trees and shrubs and air conditioned inside.

Sporting Facilities

Sunderland works closely with Waitakere City Council and the Trusts Stadium and has negotiated long term access to the superb sporting facilities which are literally on our doorstep. These include extensive netball and tennis courts, swimming complex, playing fields, athletics track and the magnificent Trusts Stadium. Sunderland offers an increasingly diverse range of sporting opportunities for its students.

Academic Facilities

Sunderland boasts computer suites with class sets of computers for both the Primary School and College. The suites are equipped with SMART Boards. Many classrooms have built in data projectors.

Both the Primary School and College use fully equipped science laboratories and a technology room. Sunderland is well equipped for music and drama with Primary and College music rooms, a drama room and 250 seat auditorium. There is a Spanish teaching room and well equipped rooms for learning support, ESOL, College Art and Primary Art.
