We are proud to invite parents in and friends in the community to enjoy this wonderful piece of art, by a Year 13 Art student, Yoon Young Choi. The two pieces below are part of an Art project: `Mother and Child`. She was inspired by her own family experience and by the activities and relationship between mothers and their children who attend Bright Sparks, a playgroup for parents and toddlers held at ACG International School, every Tuesday morning.
Yoon Young shares with us her reasons for choosing Art: “The decision to take a journey in Art started on a summer’s day walking along the path between dense trees and heading to my grandfather’s house to learn how to draw. My grandfather was an artist. He is next to me at all times. On my way to his studio, I saw the vivid colors painted on the road, trees and sky which was unforgettable. I can remember spending most of my childhood just go out with a small sketchbook and draw landscapes in each of the four-seasons. I used to be inspired by ordinary things such as the annual rings inside a tree, or abandoned dolls. These things never stop running around my head and I am willing to find the best place to learn how to express my passion for Art.”
Yoon Young will be entering the University of Arts in London, next year to study Jewelry Design.
