ACG Middle School 2012

Welcome to the ACG Middle School

The ACG Middle School is for students aged 11 to 14 (Years 7 to 10) and follows the University of Cambridge Lower Secondary programme. It extends the inquiry-based approach that the IB Primary Years Programme offers while also preparing the students for the rigours, challenges and demands of the University of Cambridge curriculum.

A strong focus on language, literature and mathematics is a feature of the School. Well-equipped classrooms and laboratories provide an ideal setting for practical, experiential learning. Information Technology is used extensively in all curriculum areas and specialist teachers in Art, Music and Physical Education allow students to enjoy experiences that will last a life time.

Assessment:

Our Middle School provides a testing structure that measures student, class and school performance.

All tests are standardised, providing an international benchmark of student achievement. The progression tests provide valid external assessments of knowledge and skills in English, Maths and Science. Progression tests are marked by the teacher. Cambridge provides full mark schemes and guidance.

Year 9 students sit the International Checkpoint Examinations in Mathematics, English and Science. These examinations give an objective measure of student performance and are internationally benchmarked.
