Assessment and Reporting Middle School

 

Assessment is a continuous process throughout the school year. The process informs faculty members and enables the planning cycle (assess, plan, teach, assess). It also provides all stakeholders with information about each student’s strengths and needs.

Term One:
October                Formal Written Report

December            Mid-Year Examinations (Internal)

COMMUNICATION WITH PARENTS

In addition to Teacher / Parent communication throughout the year, the School reports to parents in a number of ways.

  1. Formal Written Report at the end of Term One
  2. Parent / Teacher Interviews at the end of Term One and Term Three
  3. Formal Written Reports at the end of Semester One and Semester Two
  4. Individual appointments / emails / phone-calls

Parents may convey concerns to teachers via email, phone-call or letter. An after-school appointment may be useful to discuss concerns. Teachers will copy emails, letters and log phone-calls and interviews with the Head of Secondary.

 

Formal Written Reports

Formal written reports include written comments by each subject teacher. A percentage is given at the end of Term One, Semester One and Two and this percentage is a reflection of the work completed by the student throughout each semester.
