ACG English School: “A perfect environment for learning”

The opportunity to improve her English skills and learn more about New Zealand motivated Ekaterina (Kate) Matveenko, 15, to travel from Russia to attend ACG English School for eight weeks.

“I wanted to learn more about the country, the lifestyle and the people,” she said. “Especially as I am considering continuing my education in New Zealand.”

Kate only has good things to say about the experience, in particular the care the teachers took with their students and their individual approach to teaching. Ms Zheng’s diverse English teaching methods – from QR Codes to Ted Talks – were a highlight for the teenager.

“She is totally dedicated to her work and that creates a perfect environment for learning. With her assistance I’ve significantly improved my language skills. I feel much more confident about my skills and hope to achieve a high score in the IELTS test. I’m grateful I had such an awesome teacher as Ms Zheng.”

As for her time in New Zealand, Kate says it was ‘mesmerizing’.

“I loved visiting parks and museums. I took many photos. I will remember NZ as a tranquil place with pleasant environment and friendly people. I would like to come there again.”
