ACG Schools: What’s in store for 2018?

ACG Schools in New Zealand provide world-class education to 2,500 students from New Zealand and around the world. Clarence van der Wel, CEO of Schools and Early Learning, outlines plans for the schools in 2018.

How was the 2017 academic year?

2017 was a very strong year for ACG Schools as we saw growth in student numbers and excellent academic and extracurricular achievements across the board. This has culminated in some of our best-ever Cambridge examination results, and offers to top international universities for a number of students.

We also appointed two new principals, both of whom are having a strong impact, and opened a state-of-the-art gymnasium at ACG Tauranga, cementing the school’s place in the local community. We look forward to building on this in 2018.

What is the vision for ACG Schools in 2018?

While we continue our focus on academic performance and high-quality teaching, we also take pride in offering a broad educational experience with extracurricular programmes that develop well-rounded young people. As our roll continues to grow, we look forward to welcoming new students and industry-leading staff into our classrooms.

What does 2018 hold?

Some of our key activities include:

  • Growth in our preschool offering as we open ACG Tauranga Preschool next month and welcome our Preschool Centre Manager on board.
  • Investment in our facilities to accommodate growing demand, including a cafeteria upgrade and new classrooms at ACG Parnell College and improvements to the tennis courts, cafeteria and courtyard at ACG Strathallan.
  • Increasing our sports offerings across the board as part of a strong focus on extracurricular participation.

Why should parents consider an ACG School in New Zealand?

ACG Schools offer a progressive, independent education that’s not constrained by past traditions. With dedicated deans for international students, caring homestay options and quality English language programmes, we pay a lot of attention to providing a caring and nurturing environment in each of our schools.

We have an uncluttered view of what it means to educate children in 2018, with a strong focus on providing all the tools needed for future learning and successful careers.
