ACG Pathways

Our graduates: Meet Jaffit Wong

“Do your best, take advantage of the opportunities it gives you to learn to think independently and prepare for university life.”

Sage words from Tsz Yin Wong (Jaffit) who completed the AUT Certificate in Foundation Studies delivered by ACG Pathways, in 2014.

Originally from Hong Kong, Jaffit had ambitions to get into a top university in New Zealand. Her family had heard about ACG Pathways and Jaffit enrolled in a foundation course in 2014, which helped her to clarify what she wanted to study at university.

“At first, I was planning to study occupational therapy, but after studying different subjects, I realised that I was more interested in arts subjects, such as criminology and psychology,” she said.

Jaffit was particularly interested in the psychology of criminal behaviour and wanted to broaden her understanding of the causes of social problems. Having now graduated with a BA in Criminology she aims to put her knowledge into action helping others.

“It was a great sense of satisfaction to have done well studying in a second language. Now I hope to remain in New Zealand, developing a career in my chosen field. I’d like to work in an organisation that provides practical assistance to less fortunate members of society,” she said.

Jaffit completed the AUT Certificate in Foundation Studies, delivered by ACG Pathways, in 2014. She was awarded a BA (Criminology) from AUT in 2017.
