"He is as committed to the ACG Tauranga community as we are to him."
Changlu Guo, 16, is in Year 11 at ACG Tauranga. The keen basketballer from North China lives with a Kiwi homestay family in the sunny Bay of Plenty. At one stage he decided to give Auckland a go, but quickly realised he preferred Tauranga where he’s making leaps and strides in English and loves the school’s “very nice and friendly teachers.” Changlu’s favourite subject is maths; eventually he hopes to study Maths and Computer Science at university.
ACG Tauranga principal Thea Kilian said the school was exceptionally proud of Changlu.
“He is as committed to the ACG Tauranga community as we are to him. He is highly respected and valued as a role model, a learner and a friend. Changlu’s connections are sincere, respectful and I have no doubt the start of lifelong friendships.”
