Outstanding exam results for ACG

I can’t remember a time I’ve seen results like this”
- Clarence van der Wel

ACG’s four Auckland schools have all received outstanding exam results, possibly the strongest ever, according to Director of Schools, Clarence van der Wel.

“I can’t remember a time I’ve seen results like this,” he said. “Across the board, all of the schools have performed extremely well.”

He said he was particularly impressed with the schools’ pass rates – 99% at A level and 93% at IGCSE level – which demonstrated ACG’s emphasis on individualised education.

“We believe these results show that no student is left behind,” he said. “Every student is treated as an individual and taught accordingly.”

At the top end of the scale, ACG schools produced an impressive swathe of A* and A grades – (80% or higher) – almost 40% of all papers graded.

The Cambridge Association also awarded the schools five Top in the World results – given to the learner who has achieved the highest standard mark in the world in an individual subject.

Ten Top in NZ awards and eight High Achievement awards (for subjects with small intakes), topped off the year’s results.

“We are incredibly proud of our students who have achieved at such a high level,” Mr van der Wel said. “The results, and accompanying offers to top universities and courses in New Zealand and around the world, are a wonderful testament to their hard work and ability, and that of our dedicated teachers. But we’re proudest to watch our students achieve their potential, at whatever level, in whatever arena – academic, sporting, artistic or otherwise.

“At the end of the day, while strong results demonstrate the exceptional learning offered at our schools, what we most want is for our students to emerge from their years at school as well-rounded people with an appreciation of education, who will make a great contribution to society – whatever their strengths.”
