“My teachers helped me develop as an individual”

Parth Kaura, from India, has been awarded a $5,000 scholarship from Victoria University of Wellington to put toward his first year of undergraduate study. The scholarships are awarded for high academic performance, excellent attendance, leadership, commitment, respect and self-discipline.

Only one scholarship is awarded per term.

Parth said competing with eight others for the award made it a tough competition.

“I could feel the thrill and excitement. It made winning the study award all the more worth it.

Studying marketing, micro economics and macroeconomics was the highlight of his Victoria University of Wellington Foundation Studies Programme, which Parth took to help him achieve his goal of studying a Bachelor of Commerce degree at Victoria University.

After his degree, the 19-year-old hopes to work in the corporate world as a business analyst, stock broker or financial advisor and investor.

He said ACG Pathways helped him develop many new skills.

“Communication and cooperation, along with planning and leading groups and presentations. In a nutshell, my teachers have all helped me develop as an individual during my time in ACG.”

Parth has enjoyed New Zealand’s friendly environment, which makes it an easy place to study for international students. He said all the help he needed was available at ACG.

“It’s been a great experience.”
