Young Leaders attend Tauranga City Council

Last week, ACG Tauranga students Flynn Macredie and Odette Miller-Hard attended the Instep Priority 1 Young Leaders’ Forum event at the Tauranga City Council.

Together with around 30 other young leaders from the Bay of Plenty Region, the students joined the three Mayors from the Tauranga City Council, Western bay of Plenty District Council and Bay of Plenty Regional Council in the council chambers for a formal question and answer session.

Through the Instep Young Leaders’ Forum, students have a voice on the future development of the Western Bay of Plenty, develop their leadership skills, build networks with other student leaders and become aware of local opportunities for young people.

For Sze Yik Ying (Kristy), cooking is a perfect mix of art and science. “Every chef has to express who they are in their dishes,” she said. “They have to spend time developing their own style and presenting their understanding of the art of cooking.”

Building their future on solid foundations

With a grand vision on completion, NZMA have acquired the 8000 square metres site, on Great South Road, Otahuhu, and is fitting it out with brand new classrooms, workshops, and labs. Purpose built, the site will be a hub for students wanting to learn trades skills in South Auckland.
