Students who successfully complete one of our foundation programmes, and can meet the entry criteria for university study, will have a guaranteed pathway to an undergraduate degree.
We have exclusive partnerships with three of New Zealand’s leading universities: The University of Auckland, Auckland University of Technology (AUT) and Victoria University of Wellington. Our specialised foundation study programmes combine academic learning in your chosen subject with English language development and independent study skills.
While you study the specialised University Entrance and English language courses required for university in New Zealand, you will receive a high level of personal care and support to make it easier to study far from home. This will give you an excellent foundation for future university study – or any other educational pathway.
Our programmes are tailored to meet student needs, with four intakes per year and learning periods of 6 to 18 months. You can study in Auckland or Wellington, and enrol in any one of our programmes:
Our specialist English schools – ACG English School and The Campbell Institute – will help you learn in an English-speaking academic environment, and give you the confidence to undertake your university studies. Our quality courses can be integrated with your foundation studies programme.
If you aren’t a New Zealand resident, ACG Pathways will help you get established by finding somewhere suitable for you to live, making your travel arrangements, and even helping you find part-time work. This means you can concentrate on your foundation studies.
Our qualified tutors offer one-to-one attention and encouragement to help you progress in your course and reach your academic goals.
ACG Pathways’ supportive, student-centred approach creates an environment where you can focus on your programme and achieve your academic goals. Completion of our programmes provides you with the University Entrance qualification for all English-speaking universities in New Zealand and overseas.
Our programmes are designed to give you the skills, not just to enter university, but to succeed once you are there. Our highly-qualified, experienced and caring teachers will work with you in a supportive learning environment, to stay on track and achieve your goals.
Learning is increasingly conducted digitally, with courses, study materials and even exams being accessed online. Digital literacy is a core part of our foundation studies, so you’ll be ready to learn in or out of the classroom.
Each of our students is unique. We tailor your programme to enable you to be as prepared as possible for tertiary study. That includes learning to manage yourself and developing a range of learning skills. If you speak another language, our English School can support your development of English to a tertiary, academic level.
Move on to successful study at one of New Zealand’s leading universities with our university pathway courses. Successful completion will guarantee students entry into the University of Auckland, Auckland University of Technology (AUT) or Victoria University of Wellington.

The AUT Certificate in Foundation Studies is designed to meet the needs of international students, and prepare them for the challenges of an AUT degree programme.

Students from all over the world participate in an internationally recognised education that helps them make a successful contribution to a diverse global community.
ACG Pathways is led by a team of managers with extensive educational and administrative backgrounds. They are united by a passion for excellence in learning and teaching, and a desire to give young people the very best preparation for their future.
Most of our managers have worked internationally in both public and private sector education. They are family people, who understand the importance of providing the very best care for students, while also helping to develop greater independence in preparation for university life and beyond.
Our teachers come from diverse backgrounds, and many have themselves experienced living in a new country and understanding cultures different to their own. Their key focus is on students and their needs – they understand that quality teaching is measured by how well a student is able to learn.
Our teachers are tertiary-qualified in their chosen specialist subjects, and have extensive international and local teaching experience, in both the public and private sectors.
